This seemed like a perfectly reasonable request from my eight year old at brownie camp, after all it was absolutely shocking weather.

Couldn’t be wetter or colder in fact, or could it?

That would most definitely be a ” yes!”

Having fallen in the very muddy, dirty,  cold lake twice, the little sweetie thought Hey Ho may as well just jump in again for good measure.

My lovely yellow, clean waterproof gave up trying at this point and is lovely and waterproof no more.

Don’t you just love ‘em.

I’m smack bang in the middle of reading The Handmaid’ s Tale by Margaret Atwood, which really is a bit of a coo as I’m not a fan of sci fi generally. Whilst the story is rather gripping thus far, I have to admit that I’ve been mightily distracted by what the characters are said to be wearing.
Red is the uniform of all Handmaids, from clothing to shoes, all that changes is the weight of the cloth depending upon the season.

I love red and am not afraid to wear it at the drop of a hat, it has to be tomato soup red for me though, blood red at a push.

Since starting this book I’ve promised myself to wear it much more, after all it certainly did the trick for Chris De Burgh. What I’d love is a 40′s style red dress, worn with red heels and red lips.
Brave if nothing else.

How very exciting, Alex Boniface Wedding Dress Designer has joined our team. We have been lucky enough to work with Alex over the past year and are thrilled to have her on board.

Alex not only designs and makes stunning bridal wear, she has been busy doing all of our alterations giving our customers a perfect fit every time.

Just had the most amazing experience at The Loft Hair & Beauty Studio in Upper Saxondale. Relaxing, fun and totally friendly.
I’m pretty funny about my hair, (not having the luxurious locks I so desperately crave.)
I’ve been going to my very expensive hairdresser for the last 15 years as I’ve been so nervous about going elsewhere. I love getting my hair done, but need to feel “safe” when they have their scissors and colour in hand. Who knows what mayhem they can cause.
Anyway, I plucked up the courage to go and see Suzanne at the Loft, well all I can say is that the very picky, sorry, adorable Ed, said it’s the best haircut and colour I’ve ever had. Blimey, praise in deed Suzanne.
Tashi did a great job of my lush red gel toe nails too.
I’ve already booked in for my next appointment and quite frankly, can’t wait to go.

Thanks ladies.

Faux or fur?

This is a very hot topic most of the time. I find that the debate is by and large a very personal one, and so it should be – we are each entitled to our own opinions.

On the one hand we have those who are totally anti fur/leather/animal products, to the ” I eat meat and therefore will wear the by products and will wear vintage items”  to the ” I don’t see the problem with wearing any furs or leathers”.

It is always difficult if you fit in one camp to fully appreciate the view of someone in another. That’s just how we humans are. I try very hard to understand a differing point of view, and have been known on occasion to change my own if the opposing argument is stronger. I am quite clear however, that your opinion is yours to own as mine is mine.  Hence my mantra – wear what you like and wear it with pride.

Who am I to impose my opinions on you? Who gave me that job?

Thought you might like to see a stunning black Jaguar coat I spied being worn beautifully in Edinburgh this week.

Mulberry certainly know how to catch a girls attention in Edinburgh. Their fabulous use of rather large animals was definitely a crowd puller.
It took me all of 10 minutes to notice the scantily clad Calvin Klein window opposite. Then again, I don’t often have the urge to rush out and buy men’s pants.

After getting soaked on board the Royal Yacht Britannia thought I’d lower the tone in the Restaurant, and very nice it was too – even if I was just wearing a cardy. But at least it was a  Deane & White charcoal cardy 100% wool.
